Peak Performance was founded in 1986 by two passionate skiers in Åre, Sweden. The two had quit their daily jobs to pursue their dream. Their dream was to create ski equipment that they couldn't find anywhere else. It all started when the two skiers, one of them with multiple World Cup victories, sat next to each other in a chairlift going up a mountain. They started talking about why no one was making ski clothing that they themselves wanted to wear. Clothing that combines excellent functionality with a simple and attractive design. The answer to this turned out to be Peak Performance.
Originally, their ambitions didn't go much further than making some clothing for themselves and their friends, in sufficient quantities to make money from it. The company was formed by what was important to them: finding the right design and the right technical solution was paramount.
