Kurt Geiger is a unique and large-scale brand with a global presence in the footwear and accessories market. Kurt Geiger caters to both accessibility and aspiration. Neil Clifford, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Kurt Geiger, has said the following: 'We are a house of brands that embraces the style and freedom of expression of the individual whoever and wherever they are. Our passion, creativity, focus, and genuine love of fashion enables us to constantly innovate, develop, and grow our brands.' Therefore, the Kurt Geiger brand represents the combination of style and freedom of expression at an individual level, no matter where or who you are. The passion, creativity, focus, and genuine love for fashion allow the brand to constantly innovate, develop, and grow.

Kurt Geiger timeline and growth

Kurt Geiger was founded in 1963 when the first stores opened on Sloane Street and Bond Street in London, with this vision from Mr. Geiger: 'The idea that high elegance is created by high heels alone is as dead as last year's boots. We designed the new season boots to look like they belong to a rock star, but feel so easy you can live in them day to day.'

In 1977, Kurt Geiger was first sold in the department store Harrods, Knightsbridge, and in 1978, Kurt Geiger merged with Carvela. In 1991, Kurt Geiger was also first sold in the department store Selfridges on Oxford Street, and in 1995, the brand launched its first collection focused on men. For the more fashion-conscious consumer, the brand launched the KG Kurt Geiger line in 1997. In 2001, Kurt Geiger launched a store concept designed by architect John Field, described as 'a jewelry store for shoes'.

The further growth of Kurt Geiger was defined in 2006 and 2007 by the launch of KURTGEIGER.COM and expansion into the Middle East and Europe. The brand itself expanded further in 2009 with the introduction of the Stiletto as the brand's signature style, with a launch of over 100 different colors. In 2011, the accessories concept called 'Everything But The Dress' was added.

The brand's growth doesn't stop here, as an expansion into North America took place in 2012. On the 50th Kurt Geiger anniversary in 2013, the brand not only launched 200 golden 'Belgravia' stiletto sandals, but also Miss KG, a line targeting the younger, highly fashion-conscious consumer. In 2014, Kurt Geiger reached the markets in China and Australia, and in 2016, the brand launched a brand-new playful line for children aged 4 to 12.

In 2017, Kurt Geiger introduced the now still popular, iconic, and distinctive Kensington handbag, and in 2018, the brand opened the first Kurt Geiger London boutique in the department store Selfridges, designed by architect Jamie Forbert. Since then, Kurt Geiger continues to grow and expand in North America and Europe, and now the brand's most beautiful bags and shoes are also available at The Little Green Bag!
